Hypnotherapy: FAQ

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that uses suggestion to encourage the client to make positive change. Relaxation techniques are used to help the client reach a state where the conscious mind becomes very relaxed and the un-conscious mind becomes more open to suggestion. The suggestions given are always positive and help encourage positive beneficial change.

The number of sessions required will be dependent on the client and the reason they are seeking hypnosis. Smoking cessation is usually one session but weight control may take six sessions. An assessment is usually made in the first session and is reviewed on a regular basis.
